Phil Scott Launches ‘Green Flag’ Campaign Kick-Off Tour

Phil Scott is kicking the campaign season into high gear with a statewide tour.

Dubbed the Green Flag Tour, Scott will campaign in all of Vermont’s 14 counties.  “I’m looking forward to discussing my plan to strengthen our economy, make Vermont more affordable and make sure the state budget does not grow faster than Vermont’s economy or Vermonters’ income,” Scott said.

Scott said the tour is also an opportunity to listen to the ideas and perspectives of other Vermonters.  “Listening and learning is the key to bringing people together around our goals of a stronger, more affordable Vermont and restoring faith and trust in state government,” he added.

The Scott campaign is also debuting “Blizzard” – a small passenger bus converted to a mobile campaign office.  “Like the type of state government we will run, our campaign will be efficient, nimble and responsive,” Scott said. “Our mobile campaign office not only makes transporting staff and volunteers easier, it also gives us the ability to set up a campaign headquarters anywhere in Vermont.”

Scott’s tour begins today (Monday, May 16) with events in Caledonia and Essex counties. The campaign will be visiting Washington, Bennington and Rutland counties later this week.
