Larry Dougher

24 Aug 2010

I am supporting Phil Scott as Vermont’s next Lieutenant Governor because of his experience as a small businessman and as a state senator. I believe he will be able to work with the other side when necessary but also continue to provide a needed balance in the statehouse.

Rep. Janice Peaslee

I have had the opportunity of working with Phil in the Legislature, and know him to be a man of integrity, fairness and dedication. His ten years of experience as a Senator will serve him well in the Lieutenant Governor’s role. Phil Scott is the right man for the job.

Janice Peaslee is an 11-term state Representative from Guildhall.

Rep. Patty O'Donnell

12 Aug 2010

I have always been very impressed by Phil. He is very dedicated to the State of Vermont. He has a strong sense of fairness and honesty. He has done a great job as a state senator and will do a great job as our next Lt. Governor. I am proud to lend my support to Phil.

Patty O’Donnell is a state Representative from Vernon.

Senator Peg Flory

12 Aug 2010

Phil Scott shares my goals of supporting business development, improving Vermont’s roads and bridges, reducing tax burdens, and managing state budgets thoughtfully and frugally. Better yet, he’s proven it with his voting record during his 10 years of service in the Vermont State Senate. I’m honored to have served with Phil in the Senate, and he will be my choice for Lieutenant Governor.

Margaret “Peg” Flory is a state Senator from Rutland County.

Chuck Huizenga

I have known Phil for a long time. He is a dedicated, honest individual that continually demonstrates common sense! A trait that seems to be sorely lacking in most elected officials. I am proud to know Phil and will be casting my vote for him

Rep. Tom Koch

05 Aug 2010

I’m endorsing Phil Scott because, in 10 years of working with him in the Statehouse, I have come to know him as a diligent, straightforward legislator who listens to all sides first and then makes his decisions based on what his conscience tells him is the right thing to do. I also believe he is the strongest candidate in the race and will attract the votes of Democrats and Independents in the general election.

He’s been a positive part of the process for 10 years, and he’s one of only three Republican chairs in the building. He’s effective, he’s open, he’s hardworking, and he’s trustworthy. As the successful owner of a construction business, Phil Scott has the respect not only of those who have engaged his services, but also of the workers who are his employees, and other business owners who are his competitors.

Tom Koch is a 9-term legislator representing Barre Town in the Vermont House.

Like me, Phil Scott has run a successful business for more than 25 years. He doesn’t just talk about the importance of supporting Vermont’s business community – he does it, and he has done it for the last 10 years in the Vermont Senate. This past spring, he led the effort to protect an important tax deduction that will keep jobs here in Vermont and could save Vermont manufacturers, contractors, and farmers several million dollars this year alone. Phil Scott knows what Vermont needs, and Vermont needs Phil Scott as Lieutenant Governor.

Sen. Dick Mazza, Grand Isle District

04 Aug 2010

I’ve served with Phil Scott on the Institutions Committee and the Transportation Committee in the Senate for the last 10 years. Most of you know, I’m a lifelong Democrat. But I’m asking you to vote for Phil Scott. Why? Because Phil and I have accomplished a lot for Vermont by bringing Republican and Democratic legislators together. Phil is a man of principle, but he puts people above politics. He can work with everyone to get things done. That’s a guy we should all want in the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

Sen. Dick Mazza is chair of Senate Transportation and has served 13 terms in the Vermont Senate.

Rep. Linda Myers, Essex

28 Jul 2010

“Phil is a person whose word you can trust, one who carefully thinks through the issues, and one who makes decisions based on what is best for the State of Vermont. He is able to work comfortably with members of all parties and has earned the respect of his fellow legislators. I urge all Vermonters to cast their ballot for Phil Scott.”

Rep. Patti Komline, Dorset

22 Jul 2010

“In my six years serving in the Legislature, I have seen Phil Scott at work on many different issues. He has an incredible work ethic, integrity and the respect of all those who serve with him.  He isn’t a politician, but a true statesman, and that’s why he needs to be elected as our next Lt. Governor.”

Patti Komline is the House Minority Leader.

Sen. Bill Doyle, Montpelier

21 Jul 2010

“I am supporting Phil Scott for Lieutenant Governor because of his outstanding legislative service and demonstrated ability to bring people together on important issues.”

Bill Doyle is the Senate Minority Leader, and has served in the Vermont Senate for 21 terms.

Ed Larson

16 Jul 2010

“Phil played a key role on resurrecting the timber harvesting program on state land. His leadership in this area provided more state revenues from the state’s managed timber base, sustained important rural jobs in the forest products economy and enhanced wildlife habitat. Phil has been a key booster for rural Vermont throughout his legislative career.”

Ed Larson is the Executive Director of the VT Forest Products Association.

Graydon Stevens

15 Jul 2010

“Phil’s innovative program to pour nearly $10 million into state park renovations during the last two years reversed years of neglect, created jobs, boosted rural economies, promoted energy conservation, and helped move our parks toward being self-supporting in the near future.”

Graydon Stevens is a Member of the Commission on the Future of Vermont State Parks.

John Laberge

15 Jul 2010

“Hunting is a major piece of the Vermont identity and rural economy.  Sportsmen count Phil as one of their own, and as someone to go to whenever help is needed.”

John Laberge is the Owner/Producer of the Yankee Sportsman’s Classic Show.

Rep. Brian Savage, Swanton

15 Jul 2010

“I urge all Vermonters to join me in casting your vote for Phil Scott for Lieutenant Governor. Although I have had the honor of serving with Phil in the Legislature for only one term, I knew of his reputation long before I got to the State House. He is a man of compassion, honesty, and leadership, all traits that more than qualify him to be the next Lieutenant Governor.”

Mitchell Jay

07 Jul 2010

“As an association, we appreciate Phil Scott’s common sense approach on complicated and sometimes contentious issues before the Transportation Committee. He knows how to run a business, manage a budget, and literally how to change the tires if the wheels come off the car. Like the auto industry, Vermont’s economy is facing a rough road ahead over the next few years, and we think Phil would be an exceptional co-pilot for Vermont’s next Governor.”

Mitchell Jay is President of the VT Vehicle & Automotive Dealers’ Association.
